A delegation from Grand Bahama Island will be in town the first week of March to continue the ongoing discussions with St. Lucie County regarding the development of a business and tourism partnership.
The partnership is a combined effort to boost tourism in both areas. This month there was a combined giveaway for five winners to get a VIP tour and private party at Tradition Field, golf at PGA Golf Club AND a free round trip flight to Grand Bahama Island. Proposed future plans include boat races, two- destination fishing and golf tournaments, shopping excursion charters, among others.
St. Lucie County and Grand Bahama Island first began to explore a possible partnership in 2008, and a representative from the Grand Bahama Island Ministry of Tourism toured the county in late October. This is the fourth meeting between the two groups.
